I love, love, love capturing candid moments. Even more than that I love capturing candid moments of random strangers. It makes me feel like I am Julia Roberts in the movie Closer. I’m just borrowing their lives. Right now, this is one of my favorites.

I was at Huntington Beach and when I sat down I saw this couple cuddling, I couldn’t help but to snap a few shots of them. He seemed so very protective of her and I thought it was absolutely adorable.

So new challenge for the week: go out and take candid pictures of random strangers.

I was at the apple store the other day and I heard one of the Mac guys ask a customer, “On a scale of 1 to 10 how big of a nerd are you?” I pondered this question and of course eavesdropped on the conversation out of pure curiosity. How would I have answered? Well. My current office situation looks a little something like this.

Uber nerd station? I think so. This is not permanent. Heaven forbid that anyone ever need this amount of technology on one desk. I feel as if the room is ready to explode with electricity at any moment, toasting me like a crispy piece of bacon. Soon the Mac will be the only thing occuping this desk while my PC gets shoved away, never to be heard from again. Actually, I’m doing some comparisons before making the switch.

Now. Onto the pretty stuff. New photos. This is the only one I’m going to post here. There are more but I’m scattering them across the interwebs like breadcrumbs. I call this one Ode to the Pirate.

Afterwards I couldn’t help but have a little photobooth fun. It’s not everyday that a girl puts on fake eyelashes and sews up her only black pencil skirt for the sake of a picture. I figured that I should get my moneys worth.

I bought Photojojo at Barnes and Noble one day on a whim. And if you’re reading this Chani, you are so getting this book for your birthday.

I was so impressed with this one photo project from the book that I decided to replicate it on my own wall. Using ball chain, magnets and a few photos, I now have a gorgeous photo display.

Not only does it look great, it alleviates the need to frame every picture, eliminates the clutter and the magnets makes it super easy to change the photos anytime.

I love all the pictures on the wall so far. I took all but one of them myself. I printed them out on my home printer on 5 x 7 printer paper and they look AMAZING! Every time I walk past it I smile a little.

I have so much extra ball chain that I’m probably going to end up doing these in a few other rooms as well. I’ll just need more photos to fill them all up!

I would definitely recommend the book for anyone who has way too many photos and not enough space to display them.

P.S. My dream home looks way more like an art gallery than an actual home.

Throwback to the last decade. In case you missed them, check out 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007. Unfortunately, we’ve reached the end. :’( but not forever. There are still many more decades to come (I hope) and plenty of photos to be had.

Ah, back to the last decade. I still cannot believe I’m old enough to say that. How nice it would be to be young again. I did 2003 through 2005 last week and now I’m moving on to 2006 & 2007, both of which were very fun years. I did lots of traveling and made lots of new friends.

Something recently possessed me to ransack all the photos on my computer and in the photo albums around my house. I laughed because at some and cried at others. The first few years (00 -03), I didn’t have a digital camera. So I was forced to snap photos with those one time disposable cameras and Polaroids. Yikes! I can just see myself one day telling my kids, “back in the day, we had Polaroids!” The point is here are years 2000, 2001 and 2003 in the form of photo montages. These were my favorite photos of the bunch, the ones that brought back memories or made me laugh. There aren’t many and they aren’t very good but I enjoyed them. They show me how far I’ve come and how amazing everything is. Next few years coming soon!

I took some new photos today. I lost my voice. Haven’t been able to sleep. Busy like crazy. But these pictures make me feel all better.
